MOE has launched the Khoo Teck Puat International Opportunity Programme (KTPIOP) for all poly and ITE students pursuing their first full-time diploma programme. The KTPIOP is funded by the Khoo Teck Puat Education Fund launched in 2007.
KTPIOP aims to give needy students an opportunity for overseas experience. The following are some key features of the programme:
Criteria
§ Quantum of subsidy is up to $1,200 per student per trip
§ Eligible for only Singapore Citizens pursuing 1st full-time Diploma programme
§ Gross monthly household per capita income (PCI) of $750 and below
§ Must not have received a subsidy under KTPIOP before
§ Must not concurrently hold another scholarship, award, bursary or subsidy that covers the full cost of the overseas student programme
What does it cover?
§ Tuition fees
§ Accommodation expenses
§ Living expenses
§ Airfare
§ Books and supplies
§ Medical/health insurance; and
§ Immigration/administration fee
Application Procedure
§ Form to be filled up by student applicant
§ Lecturer assist to check
§ CM/Mgr-in-charge to endorse
§ Director be the final Endorser
With KTPIOP, a few of our needy DES students can now have the opportunity to go on overseas study trips, OSIP, overseas community project, etc. Please be on the lookout for these students if you are planning for any such programme and advise them accordingly. You can also ask the students to see me.
