HI PID Freshmen,
There are 4 locations to view the Singapore Biennale works - South Beach Development (opp. Raffles Hotel)
Central Promontory Site (behind NTUC Office Bldg along Marina Boulevard) - FOC
City Hall ($10 for same day for 2 sites, City Hall and South Beach Dev)
Singapore Art Museum & 8Q-Rate: School (free admission with TP matric card)
(Look out for Signature Art Prize (winning Sculpture Installations sponsored by AP Breweries)
Check up: www.singaporebiennale.org
National Museum also showcases 2 current exhibitions on photography at the Basement.
Visit the 4th Floor to get free admission to a Mexican Photography Exhibition.
Show them your TP Matric Card for free admission to the History Museum.
DES will not renew our corporate membership with Nat Museum Singapore and SAM. Our membership expires on 31 Dec 2008.
Visits to NMS and SAM are free of charge for DES students now till end of the year.
You are encouraged to view the Singapore Biennale Works before they are torn down on 16 Nov 2008.
These experiences would certainly enrich you in preparation for the next subject 3D Art Fundamentals starting on 17 Nov 2008.
We are not planning any field trip this round but you have to make an effort to visit these sites on your own during the week-ends.
The final submission for 3D Art Fundamentals is participation of the 4th CDL Public Sculpture Design Competitions for Bishan Park.
On the last day of your Block 6, i.e. Friday 14 Nov 2008, Singapore Furniture Industries Council would be hosting a Design Conversation at TDS Lecture Theatre 24.
Your class rep Nelson would help me to collate the namelist of interested PID freshmen attending the SFIC Design Conversation Seminar from 2-5pm (FOC).
Regards
TomLoh
